Heiner Oepen new Managing Director of ELS GmbH

ASCON Holding completes its management board to pursue strategic expansion

ELS Europäische LizenzierungsSysteme GmbH is expanding its management board. With Heiner Oepen, a disposal expert will run ELS from May 2013 onwards. One of his first tasks will be stepping up the expansion of ELS Dual, ELS GmbH's dual system. As the managing director of ASCON GmbH and ASCON Resource Management Holding, Sascha Schuh will primarily focus on the aspects of strategy, material flow management and new business areas.

Heiner Oepen contributes proven expertise in the waste disposal business and has worked in the recycling industry for more than two decades. Between 1992 and 2009, he helped to considerably accelerate the establishment and expansion of DSD GmbH. Heiner Oepen is thoroughly familiar with all areas of the business, from leading negotiations with public municipal waste disposal management companies, government agencies and commercial waste disposal firms regarding the introduction of a dual system to the issues of material flow and tenders and the development of new business models. After that, Heiner Oepen was CEO of Veolia Umweltservice Dual GmbH, where his responsibilities included strategy development, liaising with the Gemeinsame Stelle dualer Systeme Deutschlands GmbH, the coordinating body for Germany's dual systems, and the clearing bodies, and representing the company's interests in its dealings with the regional ministries for the environment, public umbrella and waste disposal organisations.

"We are delighted that we have managed to recruit Heiner Oepen," says Sascha Schuh, the managing director of ASCON Resource Management Holding. "We will continue to expand the ELS and ASCON activities and strengthen our market position. Heiner Oepen's profile, experience and detailed market expertise perfectly match this process."
